Cohort Model
You cannot teach your students to motivate themselves and to take joy in their successes until you gift yourself with that belief and self-assurance. When you enroll in IWU's Exceptional Learners preparation program for exceptional learners certification, you join a group of 15 to 18 fellow teachers who are looking to become "Agents of Change" and improve the world around them. You progress through the curriculum as a group, working together in the exceptional learners certification program's virtual classroom on the IWU website.
During the exceptional learners program, you discuss course assignments and materials in online discussion forums, take workshops, and participate in group projects with your cohort team. Through them, you discover a wide range of teaching experiences and viewpoints. You have the opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with your cohort members and add their diverse knowledge to your own.
Making an Exceptional Learners Online Program Cohort Group Successful
Teaching and learning are both about building connections, and the collaborative nature of IWU's Exceptional Learners Program cohort model hones your relationship-building skills. As you work through the curriculum with your fellow teachers, you learn how to build a safe haven for learning. A handful of risk taking, a bowlful of respect, a dash of understanding, mixed with tolerance and patience is the recipe for success both in your exceptional learners virtual classroom and in your exceptional learners classroom.
Share in this character-building learning experience. Apply now to IWU's Exceptional Learners Online Program.
