IWU Exceptional Learners Online Program


The IWU Exceptional Learners Online Program prepares you for receiving an Indiana certificate for exceptional learners. The IWU Exceptional Learners Online Program's completion requirements require that you complete all eight courses satisfactorily.

A total of 25 semester credits are required to meet IWU's Exceptional Learners Online preparatory program for achieving your license for special education.


Receiving a License for Exceptional Learners

  1. Earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a minimum grade of B- in all required courses.
  2. Submit an electronic portfolio demonstrating satisfactory competence in required standards.
  3. Receive a recommendation from the candidate’s Instructor/Advisor.
  4. Receive a recommendation from the principal of the candidate’s cooperating K-12 school(s).
  5. Submit a satisfactory score on the appropriate subject area(s) content knowledge Praxis II test(s).
  6. Payment of all tuition and fees.
